Mobile Testing

By Jason L. Beanster

Computer systems once centered the subject of digital purchases. A person would use the internet to his computer; view a website; try to find an item; and purchase it digitally.

Women and men pursue to make digital purchases, but now also on devices and tablets. Cell phone and tablets present a new issue for e commerce: varying load times, purchasing concerns, and errors that may result in a huge selection of sales lost.

The tablet industry is predicted to grow 38% between now and 2015, growing from 67 million units to 248.6, based on Transparency Marketing Research. With this sort of massive growth expected to occur, websites need to be more experienced enough to handle the influx of customers going to an internet site on tablets or mobile phones. Daily, countless users of tablets and mobile phone devices visit a web site to make a purchase.

What generally occurs with websites not conditioned for these mistakes on your purchasing screen. A user may try to buy one item from his phone or tablet and various errors will occur, such as improper loading, item number problems, and drop down screen concerns. The user who originally desired to purchase your item from a website may now look elsewhere. By applying the proper testing services, you could be better prepared to prevent such smaller issues from occurring. Enduring issues on a mobile device is not good, but encountering slow load times is excruciating. Imagine going on website from your tablet device and each page taking 30 seconds or more to load.

In an age where 4G/3G speeds and downstream rates of 6 Mbps for wireless Internet exist, there will be no excuse for slow load times. Sure, response times are not going to be as quick on a mobile phone as they will be on a home computer, but with full signal bars, no individual should wait one minute to load one webpage.

Run some tests to ensure that all mobile users get the best possible load time for your companys information. Use mobile application testing tools if necessary, because your customers will either forget about or not buy anything from your site or blog if it is too slow for their liking. Smart phones will continue to get smarter, while tablets will continue to supply wireless admission to the Internet using cell towers. As the mobile industry expands, companies should start preparing for the purchases individuals will make with their cellphones or lose out on thousands of dollars in potential sales.
